A Blush and Twinkle Thirtieth

The brief

Grace wanted to throw her best friend a surprise thirtieth birthday that felt soft, glamorous and completely personal, without the guest of honor suspecting a thing.

Our approach

We wrapped an empty loft in blush tones and hung a curtain of warm lights that became the photo wall of the night. Every detail, from the dessert bar to the playlist, came from a long list of the birthday girl's favorite things.

• Coordinated a cover story and arrival plan with close friends
• Designed the lighting, backdrop and lounge areas
• Collected and edited video messages from friends abroad
• Timed the reveal, the cake and the first song to the minute

The result

The surprise held until the doors opened. The photo wall was busy all night, and the guest of honor still says it was the best birthday she has ever had.
